Atlas Backups can restore project workflows and automation rules as inactive copies, and recover issues from a deleted project in a new private project. Project restore is in beta for some accounts.

Restore an issue and custom fields

Restore single issues and issue fields, including custom fields and components. The restore updates the existing issue.

  1. Find the issue with search, or under Jira, then Issues.
  2. Open the issue and select Restore this version under the backed-up version you want.
  3. Review the preview. Nothing is written until you confirm.
  4. Confirm the restore, then open the issue in Jira to check the restored fields.

The preview is valid for a limited time, shown at the top of the page. Start the restore again if it expires.

Restore a workflow

Restore a project’s backed-up workflow as an inactive copy with an unassigned scheme. The live workflow stays unchanged. Review the preview to compare the copy with Jira before confirming the restore.

Restore an automation rule

Restore a backed-up Jira automation rule as a disabled copy beside the live rule. The live rule stays unchanged while an admin reviews the copy before enabling it.

Recover issues from a deleted project

Copy a deleted project’s issues into a new private project that only the restore account can browse. The copied issues identify their originals and keep their parents, sub-tasks and links. Comments, attachments and worklogs are not copied.

Undo a restore

  1. Select History, then Restores. The newest restores are listed with their time, product and item.
  2. Open the restore and select Undo this restore.

The undo puts back the values the issue had right before the restore.
